The Superior Seam Technology™ (SST) patented High Capacity Rake (RP-XX) or Starter Plates (SP-XX) have been established as the new standard to handle the standing seam metal roofing industry’s most restrictive edge/corner zone wind uplift performance requirements based on their outstanding performance capabilities and innovative design along with the rapid adoption rate within the licensee, architectural, engineering and metal building communities. The High Capacity Rake or Starter plates were specifically created and tested to handle the ever-changing stringent wind uplift edge/corner zone code requirements. The parts are preferred by engineers and design professionals for their edge/corner zone compliance attainment abilities, outstanding wind uplift capabilities, being up to 4X stronger than current product offerings and the up to 7” of thermal cycle travel to handle the tougher performance requirements. The architectural design, engineering and specification writers’ community’s swift adoption of the parts affirms the innovational advantages over the previous accepted edge/corner zone methodology.
RP-038 and RP -138 Rake /Eave Plate Price Increase
BRS mentioned in our November 5, 2019 “New and Improved” blog, the “old style” existing slotted rake/eave plate parts will be retired effective December 31, 2020. The blog also mentioned that quarterly step price adjustments will occur throughout 2020 as usage demand of the RP-038 and RP-138 parts continue to decline. These “old style” parts will be only available for a short period once the current existing supply evaporates after the equipment retirement. Note the final 8% price increase for these slotted rake parts will occur on all orders placed on or after October 23, 2020 then shipped later than November 1, 2020 and the parts will be retired December 31, 2020.
BRS has developed specialty shape “L” and modified “Z” shaped High Capacity Rake or Starter plates that can be utilized as a panel starter in lieu of starter clips. For any licensee that wishes to modify their current rake panel start detail to incorporate the specialty High Capacity Rake or Starter plates, please contact the BRS office for detail design assistance and/or suggested details. BRS recommends those license holders that have not transitioned or incorporated the patented High Capacity Rake or Starter Rake plates and new eave plates into their standard details to do so at their earliest convenience.
