Building Research Systems, Inc (BRS) employees are greatly saddened and distressed for any loss of life due to the unseen enemy that has infiltrated throughout our great country. We grieve those member license holders that have experienced this “new reality” in a very personal way. This epidemic has challenged all our lives in ways and areas we did not think possible in our lifetime. Every day we move closer to finding a vaccine or reliable treatments to defeat this enemy - TOGETHER.

BRS wishes to reassure all our license holders, strategic partners, and business associates that we are here for you throughout these unprecedented times. BRS was designated as an essential business during this world pandemic event, and we are open during our normal business hours to service your needs. However, we do wash our hands more often, spray disinfectant and wipe down handles, desks tops including all hard surfaces with cleaners’ numerous times daily while practicing social distancing and limit in-person office visitors. In other words, we are multi-task cleaning, staying away from each other’s social space and practicing preventive measures to reduce exposure possibilities. Sounds like you are probably reading about your own inter-office or facilities protocols regarding flattening the curve while attempting to keep all employees safe and healthy.

BRS has been remarkably busy diligently using our proprietary Superior Seam Technology™ innovation on seeking additional roof system improvements during our lock down time in the lab. We focused on edge/corner zones solutions designs for improving licensee’s performance ability to achieve stricter code designs coming in the IBC 2021 update. Many of you have been contacted for input and data to corroborate that BRS is on the right track for system improvements with minimum modifications to all license holder standard rake/gable trim details. BRS Research and Development group attention has been focused on the improvement of system components such as clips, elimination of dual stock inventories of shoulder fasteners along with the jobsite confusion of two types of screws,  panel start/finish details using the patented High Capacity Rake or Rake Support plates which are designed to perform to the ever changing more strict edge/corner zone code requirements. BRS, in the upcoming future, will be moving its current recommended panel start methodology from starter clips to either the patented High Capacity Starter Rake/Support Plate along with advocating the systems finish details incorporating the same parts. These High Capacity Rake Plate start/finish details are available on our website in the architectural roof system details of either panel profile. The patented High Capacity Rake Support feature will be placed into the architectural section of the roof details in the near future, but are available by request.

BRS is constantly reviewing, examining, and seeking roofing systems improvements to further solidify our license holder’s statuses as the industry’s benchmark manufacturers for metal standing seam roofing systems using the design advantages of Superior Seam Technology™. We appreciate all our BRS licensees, strategic and trade partners.
